The White City is a nickname for some of the old areas of Tel Aviv, home to more than 4,000 buildings associated with this international style of architecture. It's the world's largest number of buildings of this type in one place. It includes parks, boulevards and green streets. Most of the buildings of this style were established from the 1930's until the establishment of the state at 1948. Most of the white city buildings are located in the heart of Tel Aviv, between Iben Gvirol Street and Begin Road in the east, Allenby streets and the train in the south, the Yarkon River in the north and the sea in the west. In 2003, UNESCO determined that the White City areas in Tel Aviv were a world heritage site.
