King David dreamed for many years of building the holy temple in Jerusalem. He wanted to build the most beautiful building ever made by humans. He planned it all from sketches to the very end of each part and materials to be used, but then he got a message from God, saying he was forbidden to do so because his hands were not clean. King David made sure to prepare the architectural plans and buy all the materials to the last detail. He made everything ready so that his son, King Solomon, could start building the temple as soon as he will become king (after the death of his father) according to his father's vision. And so it was.
King David died wishing he could see the temple. His face shows the expression of the heart ache and hope he must of felt, mixed together at the same time.
