Collect The Pieces

We were young, my older brother and me. I was maybe 8 and he must have been 12. It was Saturday noon and my parents went for their weekend day siesta. Maybe we were laud, but I guess we weren’t that laud. It's just that my father couldn't actually sleep at any time, suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Syndrome. Dad got out of bed and shouted at us "Don't you dare make a sound or leave this room until mom and me are awake, or I'll cut you into pieces" and he slammed the door. A while after, I needed to go to the toilets. I was scared to go out of the room but couldn't hold it anymore. My brother said "Let's go together, I will watch the door for you". I cried "No. dad said he will cut us into pieces!" My hero brother looked at me with his serious eyes and replied "Don't you worry. I will collect the pieces and build you up"
