It came with time and age, the understanding that I have two possibilities for how to live my life. I can suffer or I can be happy. For many years I was hurting, I was very stressed and believed that seeing the empty half of the glass is the only mature way to analyze reality. I had to get down to the deepest point of depression so I could see otherwise. Recovering from this point was slow and painful, and once I started climbing up, I thought to myself "nothing will ever be as bad is this felt!" From this moment, everything in my life is compared to that, and all seem to be so much easier. Nothing is harder, nothing that one might thing or say about me is as bad. Furthermore, I pay attention to beautiful things I couldn't see before. I jump up and down every time one of two honey birds, who live on my Almond tree, enters my studio, fly around and go out. When things get a little rough, I make a list of ten things I am grateful for in my life, small things but real ones, stretching my happy muscle for a bit, making it work! While creating this sculpture, I was trying to have the expression of one looking into heart, finding peace from within.
